Hello, and welcome. My name is Ben Masten, and Masten Made LLC is my story made tangible — engraved into wood, metal, stone, and acrylic for the people and moments that matter most.

34 Years on the Front Line

For more than three decades, I've served as a paramedic in Northeast Indiana. Thirty-four years of fighting for those facing their worst moments. Thirty-four years of holding a stranger's hand on their worst day, of working alongside firefighters, police officers, dispatchers, and nurses whose courage I've witnessed up close. Public safety isn't just a career — it's a calling, and the people serving past, present and future are family.

That service continues to shape how I see the world. Its shown me that strength is quiet, that faith carries you through what willpower alone cannot, and that the small details of a life — a name, a date, a verse, a memory — are worth honoring.

A New Way to Tell the Story

In 2022, I picked up a laser engraver, and something clicked. Suddenly I had a way to take everything I'd seen and felt on the job and put it into something lasting. A plaque for a retiring chief. A tumbler with a station number. A cutting board carrying a family Bible verse. A keepsake for a family who lost someone in the line of duty.

Every piece I make tells a story — yours, your loved one's, or the story of a brother or sister who serves. I work in wood, metals, stone, glass, and acrylic, and I'm expanding into pressed apparel and DTF-printed shirts and sweatshirts, with a long-term vision of becoming a true one-stop shop for custom gear that honors the people who wear it.

2025 Changed Everything

I became an amputee of my right foot in 2019. In 2025, I had to have my 2nd amputation, a below the knee amputation of my left leg. That season tested everything I thought I knew about my career, my body, and my purpose. It forced me to look hard at what comes next — and to grow Masten Made from a passion into a business that can stand on its own should I need to step away from the ambulance.

I won't pretend it's been easy. But I will say this: my life is not over. The fire to serve, create, and provide for my family is stronger than ever. If you're reading this and you're walking through your own hard chapter — disability, loss, doubt, fear of what comes next — I want you to know you have more strength in you than you realize. Adversity does not get the final word. Life is hard. We can be harder.
